Disabled Adult Children: Covers disabled adult children of deceased or disabled parents.  The disabled adult child must have a physical or mental impairment which prevents substantial gainful work, and existed before their 22nd birthday or is expected to exist for at least one year.

Disability Insurance Benefits: Covers disabled individuals who meet specific criteria and qualify for disability insurance benefits.  Disability claims have a five-month waiting period, often taking longer.  Many claimants needlessly suffer hardships because they wait to file their claims.

Disabled Widows Benefits: Covers disabled widows/widowers aged 50 or older entitled to benefits based on their spouse’s Social Security.  Former spouses may be eligible for DWB if they meet specific criteria.

Social Security Disability: Covers disabled individuals with a physical or mental impairment expected to prevent performance of substantial work for at least one year—or a terminal condition expected to result in death. 

Supplemental Security Income: Covers individuals aged 65 or older, or blind, and/or disabled, if income and resource levels qualify.  SSI is a needs-based benefit program intended to augment low income and distressed families.

Retirement: Covers workers aged 65-67 depending on birth date.  Benefit amounts are based on earnings and payroll contributions.  Retirement benefits may begin as early as age 62, though reduction of benefits apply.  Conversely, late retirement may result in increased benefits.
